Our Story
Dr. Caprice Lambert is the founder and director of Hearthstone Psychology: a mental health treatment center and training facility that provides outstanding clinical care to clients and offers unparalleled training to Doctoral and Master's-level students and dependent licensed clinicians. With over 22 years of experience as an Independent Marriage and Family Therapist (IMFT) and a licensed Psychologist, Dr. Lambert founded Hearthstone Psychology in 2017 to realize her passion. Her unwavering mission is to establish a welcoming environment for clients to receive exceptional care while cultivating and nurturing the future of the industry: the next generation of quality mental health professionals. Hearthstone Psychology is committed to providing an empowering learning environment for students and clinicians, facilitating the development of essential skills vital to career success for the next generation of therapists.

Dr. Caprice Lambert, IMFT, PsyD

Dr. Caprice Lambert is a highly accomplished Licensed Psychologist and Independent Marriage and Family Therapist with 24 years of experience. She has been practicing as a Licensed Psychologist since 2015 and an Independent Marriage and Family Therapist since 2008. Dr. Lambert specializes in mood and anxiety disorders, trauma-related issues, LGBTQ+ community, family dynamics, children’s therapy, and attachment disorders. She is also an adjunct professor at Wright State University’s School of Professional Psychology, where she teaches Family Therapy.
In 2017, Dr. Lambert founded Hearthstone Psychology in Dayton, Ohio. Under her leadership, the practice has expanded significantly, growing from 3 clinicians to 2 offices, 25 clinicians, a multidisciplinary training program, and extensive community outreach. Dr. Lambert is well-known in the community, benefiting from a strong referral base that includes Dayton Children’s Hospital, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, NCCJ, Equitas Health, Montgomery County Courts, and various medical offices. Her extensive professional background allows her to provide direct service to diverse populations and to effectively train emerging clinicians across a wide range of specialties.

Cat Sterling, LPCC-S, MS Ed, CST

Cat Sterling is a highly qualified mental health counselor passionate about serving the LGBTQ+ community. Cat earned her Bachelor's degree from Wright State University and her Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Dayton. She has extensive experience working in private practice and community mental health agencies, treating various mental and emotional disorders, including ADHD, PTSD, Depression, and Anxiety. Additionally, Cat is a Certified Sex Therapist through the National Sex Therapy Institute in Houston, as well as a WPATH therapist and offers individual and relationship therapy. Cat enjoys home improvement projects, road trips, and spending quality time with her family.

Dr. Cassandra (Cassie) Daly, PsyD
Cassandra (Cassie) Daly, PsyD, earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Criminology/Criminal Justice from Arizona State University. She then earned her Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from Midwestern University in Arizona. Cassie has worked with adolescents and adults across various settings, including private practice, adolescent correctional, and state hospital locations. She utilizes a person-centered and relational approach to assist clients in identifying their needs and meeting their goals. Her areas of focus include: working with individuals with chronic pain/chronic illness, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, providing gender-affirming care, anxiety, depression, identity and self-esteem, and difficult life transitions. In her free time, she enjoys reading, nature, swimming, watching hockey, and time spent with family and friends.

Dr. Jason Dedek-Keeler, PsyD, MBA, is a postdoctoral fellow committed to supporting individuals in cultivating self-awareness, resilience, and lasting personal growth. He holds an MBA from the University of Redlands and a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Wright State University. Dr. Dedek-Keeler brings experience from community mental health, inpatient care, and private practice.
His clinical interests include working with the LGBTQ+ community, providing gender-affirming care, and supporting individuals facing mood disorders, anxiety, anger management concerns, complex mental health challenges, and adjustment difficulties. Dr. Dedek-Keeler utilizes an integrative therapeutic approach and works with clients of all ages, creating a collaborative, affirming, and supportive environment.
Outside of his clinical practice, Dr. Dedek-Keeler enjoys photography, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

Kayla Hamilton, IMFT
Kayla received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Dayton and her Master’s degree in Family Sciences with a Couple and Family Therapy Emphasis from the University of Kentucky. Therapy with Kayla is a collaboration. She strives to be a calming, supportive presence in her clients’ lives. She aims to help people discover the best choices for their situations and gain the courage to move toward change. Kayla enjoys working with all people and has provided therapy services for a diverse range of clients from various socioeconomic statuses, races and ethnicities, sexual orientations, ages, and belief systems. Her experience includes working in private practice, school, non-profit, and home-based settings. Kayla grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana. She enjoys getting outside in nature, traveling, playing with her dog, and spending time with family.

Dr. Kat Hayes, PhD

Katherine (Kat) Hayes is a licensed psychologist working with Hearthstone since 2022. She studied Clinical Psychology at Miami University and has focused on issues of trauma, narrative, marginalization, stigma, discrimination, spiritual crisis, and meaning-making. She has previously worked in individual and group psychotherapy with adults in university counseling centers, community mental health centers, and in brief inpatient settings. She has specific interests in working with LGBTQ+ clients. Her approach is primarily existential and humanistic, viewing therapy as a real connection through which we can explore who we are and how we relate to ourselves, others, and the world around us. Her approach is informed by person-centered, Acceptance and Commitment, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Interpersonal Process Therapy approaches.

Melissa Reeves-Payne, LPC, LICDC, CCTP
Provides therapy for adults seeking relief from trauma, emotional distress, and relationship or life-pattern difficulties.
Melissa has practiced since 2009 and began in private practice in 2022. Her specialties include complex trauma, PTSD, personality disorders, and substance use disorders. Melissa is an eclectic therapist and uses a trauma-informed, integrative approach incorporating CBT, DBT, Internal Family Systems (IFS), narrative therapy, and traditional talk therapy. Treatment is collaborative and tailored to your needs, pace, and goals.
Melissa is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, Personality Disorders Specialist, and VA STAR provider. She works with adults (18+) and offers both in-person and teletherapy sessions. “If you’re feeling stuck in repeating patterns, overwhelmed by emotions, or simply want a clearer understanding of yourself, therapy can help. Dr. Aubrey Morrison-Gill, PsyD

Dr. Aubrey Morrison received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Huron University College in Ontario, Canada, and her Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Wright State University's School of Professional Psychology. She has experience working in university counseling, community mental health, and private practice. She works exclusively with adults, primarily in individual teletherapy, with some limited in office availability. Her integrative approach to therapy incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Person-Centered Therapy, and she is Level 2 trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. Aubrey works with a variety of presenting concerns, including depression, anxiety, stress management, relationship issues, adult ADHD, and gender dysphoria. She enjoys spending time with her family, yoga, skating, and other ways of staying active, as well as being outdoors in her free time.

Rachel Sanabria-Brindley, LPC

Rachel Sanabria-Brindley earned her Bachelor’s degree from California State University, Monterey Bay and her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. Rachel has worked for 3 years with survivors of domestic violence and is a Registered Advocate within the state of Ohio. Rachel has experience in working with the LGBTQ+ community and underrepresented populations, she has a passion for recognizing all individuals for who they are. She works with children, adults, relationships, and families to help them navigate their lives and emotions to support their goals and well-being. Rachel uses an integrative and eclectic therapeutic approach. In her free time, she enjoys working out, reading and spending time with her family and dogs.

Dr. Aubrey Rickle-Degler earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Macalester College. She earned her Master’s and PsyD at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She has worked in community mental health, trade school, university, and private practice settings. She is passionate about working with underserved communities that traditionally lack access to mental health care. She particularly enjoys working to help people experiencing mood disorders, relationship issues, and self-esteem issues. Aubrey tends to use Person-Centered, Gestalt, and Relational approaches to her therapeutic work.

Nicole Sutter, LPC, is a dedicated therapist who returned to Dayton after completing her Master's degree in Counseling at the University of Louisville. With a passion for giving back to her community, Nicole specializes in guiding teens and young adults through the challenging phases of self-discovery. However, she warmly welcomes individuals of all ages and backgrounds. In her leisure time, Nicole enjoys playing video games, watching anime, and indulging in reading while cuddling her beloved cat.

Elisha Woodyard, MA, LPCC-S, LICDC, CCTP, CDBT
Elisha Woodyard, a Master’s level clinician, brings a trauma-informed and creative therapy approach to her work, prioritizing holistic wellness. With over a decade of counseling experience, Elisha specializes in trauma, anxiety, emotion dysregulation, and substance abuse. She is dedicated to helping clients identify opportunities for growth and achieve their goals. Elisha employs a client-centered perspective, emphasizing compassion and collaboration. Drawing from experiential and relationship-oriented approaches, as well as somatic therapy practices and cognitive-behavioral techniques, she tailors therapy to individual needs. In her personal time, Elisha finds joy in spending time with loved ones, reading, yoga, live music, spending time in nature, and engaging in artistic outlets.

Amanda Mendoza, PhD, earned her undergraduate degree and Master’s in Psychology and Marriage Family Therapy through Brandman University. Followed by earning her Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology, Fresno, CA. Amanda has worked in various settings that include a school setting, university clinic, community-based practice, Veterans Affairs (VA), as well as within the USAF as a service member. She utilizes a person-centered and interpersonal approach to treatment when assisting clients in identifying needs and goals for treatment, and ways in which those needs/goals can be met. She has certifications in various trauma protocols and has worked with trauma in various forms across different environments, settings, and populations. Her areas of focus include but are not limited to: trauma, military and its veterans, chronic pain, individuals within the LGBTQIA+ community, anxiety, depression, and various life transitions/stressors.

Amanda Winfield, LPC
Amanda Winfield is a Licensed Professional Counselor who integrates mindfulness, somatic awareness, and evidence-based therapies such as EMDR to support people navigating anxiety, trauma, relational patterns, and challenges related to shame and inner security. Her work is especially supportive for individuals who experience heightened sensitivity to stress, overwhelm, or environments that expect them to function in ways that do not fully match their inner experience.
Amanda works collaboratively with clients to deepen emotional awareness, recognize relational patterns, and build greater self-trust. Her approach is relational and trauma-informed, and she is especially passionate about creating a space where clients feel respected, understood, and supported as they explore meaningful change in their lives.

Rosie Keating is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) with a Bachelor’s degree from Briar Cliff University and a Master’s degree from Boise State University in Social Work. She brings a strong background in supporting children with autism spectrum disorder, as well as dual diagnoses, and has experience providing crisis stabilization services to children in the hospital setting. Rosie works with clients of all ages, as well as couples and families, offering inclusive, compassionate care that meets people where they are. Rosie is deeply committed to community involvement, outreach, and supporting individuals and families from diverse backgrounds. She is passionate about building meaningful connections and helping strengthen the communities she serves. In her free time, Rosie enjoys spending time in nature, traveling, exploring new experiences, supporting her community and making lasting memories with loved ones.

Carolyn Parkinson

Carolyn Parkinson is an accomplished Practice Manager with a background in education and leadership. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Master's degrees in Math and Computer Science. With experience owning and teaching at two nursery schools, as well as teaching at various levels, including college courses, Carolyn has also served on multiple boards of trustees. She is also a published author of children's books. Carolyn prioritizes family, friends, church, reading, and learning something new each day.

Annie Bellavia, CPhT

Annie has been with Hearthstone Psychology since early 2024. Annie comes to Hearthstone with an extensive background in billing and insurance management. She has over 15 years of insurance and billing experience starting with pharmacy benefits billing and obtained her CPhT in 2010 through the PTCB and is registered with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy. For the last 4 years Annie has focused exclusively on Mental Health billing. Annie works with clients at Hearthstone to help them understand and maximize their insurance benefits. In addition to helping clients at Hearthstone, Annie also works with other organizations that advocate for patients rights and for Federal policy changes.
